The Strategic Use of Art in Competitive Cities

Back in 2017, I was invited to write this piece on "the future of construction" for the World Economic Forum:

You can read my article "The strategic use of art to create compelling and competitive cities" here.

Looking at it today - in light of AI acceleration, real-time connectivity, and shift of work - the article feels quite timely.

It frames art as a strategic driver in response to these shifts and their impact on cities and modern living. It speaks about the convergence of art, real estate/cities, capital inflow and soft power as strategic infrastructure.

Grateful to Ron Bakker, PLP Architecture, who believed in my early vision and brought me into this conversation.
