Conscious Connected Breathing - A360º approach for mental clarity, emotional resilience, physical vitality, and spiritual connection.
This article explains the Conscious Connected Breathing method used in Claudia Schachenmann’s bespoke breathwork.
Conscious Connected Breathing (CCB) is a form of holotropic breathwork, originally developed in the 1960s by psychiatrist Stanislav Grof. The term "holotropic " originates from the Greek words holos (whole) and trepein (moving toward), meaning “moving toward wholeness.”
It has been scientifically linked to health benefits such as slowing heart and breathing rates, lowering blood pressure, improving oxygen delivery to blood and cells, aiding digestion, and supporting metabolic health and by that supporting longevity.
Why Conscious Connected Breathwork?
Conscious Connected Breathwork is a gateway to holistic well-being, longevity and creativity. CCB helps the body process emotions, clear mental blocks, and strengthen physical resilience - allowing you to live with greater energy, clarity, and connection.
By engaging in this practice, you activate your body's natural healing capacity and, through the enhanced mind-body connection, cultivate a deeper awareness of yourself.
How does it work?
CCB works through dynamic breathing - focusing on a full inhale and a soft, shorter exhale. It activates different areas of the brain and body than in everyday breathing, allowing body awareness, emotions, and memory to emerge. This brings you into altered states where your inner wisdom activates healing and transformation - allowing profound insight and growth.
As a result, it enhances mental focus, emotional release, physical health, spiritual insight and creative expansion.
Safety
While Breathwork can be beneficial for many individuals, there are certain conditions where caution or avoidance may be necessary. Please be aware that the following conditions are contraindicated for Conscious Connected Breathing:
· History of seizures or epilepsy
· First Trimester of Pregnancy
· Detached retina or any eye condition which can be adversely affected by changes in internal pressure
· Psychotic episodes
Feeling safe is the top priority. Always inform your facilitator if you have any of these conditions to receive the right guidance.
